William E. Bryant, 86, of Hampton passed away April 14, 2010 at his residence. He was born July 2, 1923 in Hampton the eldest son of Roy and Marie Porter Bryant. William was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He worked at Mustang Caterpillar in Houston, Texas for 27 years. William's passion was his garden where he grew the best tomatoes and prettiest flowers in all of Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James and R.A. Bryant; two sisters, Doris Bryant and Mittie Jean Morris. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maudene Bryant of Hampton; one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ernest Gardner of Farmers Branch, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Donna Bryant of Wilmington, DE; three brothers, Charles Bryant of Woodberry, Johnny Wayne Bryant of North Little Rock and Jimmy Louis Bryant of Junction City; three sisters, Helen Anderson of Ladysmith, WI, Era McDonald of Houston, TX and Carolyn Stringer of Mabelvale; two grandchildren, Michelle Bryant of Burford, GA and Steven Thomason and wife D.J. of Arkadelphia. Visitation will be Saturday 6pm until 8pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Campground Cemetery near Hampton with Rev. Garland Skidmore and Rev.
