Richard Wayne “Wayne” McGuire, 57, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on November 1, 1968, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Wayne dedicated more than 30 years of his life to full-time ministry. Throughout those years, he faithfully served churches across Illinois, Arkansas, and Indiana, where he became known for his compassionate heart, steadfast faith, and unwavering commitment to sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. He loved traveling, going on cruises, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Above all, his greatest joys were spending time with his family and leading people into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Melanie McGuire; his son, Andrew McGuire, and daughter-in-law, Anna McGuire, along with their children, Archie and Alana McGuire; his daughter, BriAnna Cruz, and son-in-law, Juan Carlos Cruz; his daughter, Malorie McGuire; his mother, Geraldine McGuire; his sister, Debbie Ring; his brothers, Paul and Ken McGuire; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie McGuire, and his brother, Glen McGuire.

Wayne will be remembered for his loyal friendship, servant’s heart, and kind spirit. He was always willing to help anyone in need and truly never met a stranger. His genuine kindness, unwavering faith, and welcoming spirit touched countless lives. Whether through a sermon, a conversation, a hospital visit, or a simple act of service, Wayne faithfully pointed people to Christ. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue through the family he loved, the churches he faithfully served, and the many lives forever changed by his ministry.

A Celebration of Life honoring Wayne will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at 6pm at Eastside Assembly of God in Lafayette, Indiana.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bearden First Assembly of God Church in Bearden, Arkansas. A funeral service will be Wednesday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Bearden First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Bearden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Assembly of God, 6121 E 50 S, Lafayette, IN 47905 in honor of Wayne’s faithful years of pastoral ministry.
