Wayne D. Brandon

Wayne D. Brandon, 68, of Thornton, AR, died Monday July 11, 2011 at his home. Mr. Brandon was born in Chambersville, AR on January 22, 1943 to the late Samuel Dewey & Martha Ellen Brandon. He was a member of the Thornton Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason & Shriner. Mr. Brandon was employed by the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department, in the weight divison. He was an avid sportsman who loved the deer hunt and enjoyed the fellowship of other hunters. He was a devoted husband, father, & grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Whitley Brandon of Thornton, AR; two sons, Doug & Dewey Brandon of Thornton, AR; two brothers, Sam Brandon of Hensley, AR, Donald Brandon of Thornton, AR; a sister, Kaye Brandon Holt of Fordyce, AR; five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, William A., Thomas E., Dewey Kenneth & John Wesley Brandon.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday July 13, 2011 at the Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. Burial will be in Chambersville Cemetery, with the Rev. Bobby George & Rev. Andy Hughes. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
