Wanie M. Pratt

Wanie M. Pratt, 87, of Fordyce, died Saturday October 25, 2008 at the Dallas County Medical Center. Mr. Pratt was born in Caldonia, AR on January 7, 1921 to the late Jesse Roy & Birdie Martindale Pratt. Mr. Pratt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fordyce, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, & a member of the Choir. He was retired from the Orange County Insurance Agency in Orange County, CA after 32 years of service. Mr. Pratt was a veteran, where he honorably & faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War ll.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty C. Pratt of Fordyce, AR; two sons, Roy Wayne Pratt & his wife Lynne of Olympia, WA, Ron Pratt & his wife Carol of Franklin, TN; a daughter, Cathy Spencer & her husband Keith of Modesto, CA; a brother, Lee Roy Pratt & his wife Charlotte of Urbana, AR; seven grandchildren, & one great grandchild. Mr. Pratt was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Pratt; & two sisters, Lorena Webb, & Zelma Bryan.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday October 28, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Fordyce. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at the Urbana Cemetery, East of El Dorado, AR, with the Rev. Stacy Reed & Rev. Ken Shaddox officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
