Virginia Lee Jacobs Harton of Pine Bluff departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the age of 92. Virginia was born November 6, 1931, in the Bucksnort Community near Fordyce to Seth and Jewel Taylor Jacobs.
She was a loving mother to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved her fur babies and had many to love on over the years. Virginia also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and reading her Bible. She had a great love for music and loved playing and singing old gospel hymns on her piano.
Virginia was a member of the former Good Faith United Methodist Church. She graduated from Fordyce High School in 1950 and attended Capitol City Business College of Little Rock.
She was employed by International Paper Company for 13 years in Camden. After years of raising her three children, she worked as the hostess at the family-owned Restaurant Catfish Cove in Pine Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her husband James W Harton Jr.; one sister Mamie Pennington and two brothers Gerald Jacobs and John Jacobs.
Survivors include one son Jamie Harton of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Debbie Bowles (Mark) of Tucson, Arizona, Pam Young (Johnny) of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Katie Young and Brason Young of Little Rock, Jacob Bowles of Tucson, Arizona; several nieces and nephews she loved dearly and her special fur babies Trixie and Buddy.
A visitation with the family will be held at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, followed by a Graveside Service at 2 p.m. at the Tanyard Cemetery with Pastor Debbie Head officiating. To sign the online register visit
