Vernon Hulse, 89 of Fordyce, formerly of White Hall died Monday February 19, 2024 at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. Born April 24, 1934 at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Hulse and Cecil Leona Browning Hulse.
He was a member of the White Hall First Baptist church, and was a retired supervisor for Arkla Gas Co. He loved fishing, landscaping, spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoAnn Wooten Hulse; eight siblings, J.D. Hulse, Gene Hulse, Doris Smith, Margie Fikes, Edna Guenther, Don Hulse, Bobby Hulse, and Billy Hulse.
He is survived by a son, Jim Hulse and his wife Dana of Fordyce; a sister, Shirley Brooks of Pine Bluff; two grandchildren, Lane Hulse and his wife, Samantha of Little Rock; Lacie Bell and her husband, Whitt of Hickory Plains; one great-grandchild, Maddox Hulse; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery in White Hall with Rev. Bob Harper officiating. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
