Venita Johnette "Sissy" Kennedy

Venita Johnette “Sissy” Pennington Kennedy, 62 of Fordyce died Friday March 29, 2024 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born December 5, 1961 at Fordyce, she was a daughter of the late Joe Pennington and Freida Herring Pennington.
Sissy was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church and worked as the secretary at the Dallas County Sheriff Office for many years. She loved fishing, growing her flowers, and her grandkids.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, DJ Kennedy. She is survived by her son, Joey Clayton and his wife Louann of Fordyce; brother, Joe Allen Pennington of Fordyce; sister, Pam Castleberry and her husband Tony of Fordyce; three grandchildren, Caden Clayton, Ensley Crain, Aubrey Joe Clayton; two nephews, Brady Brandon and his wife, Kristen, Brent Brandon and his wife, Nikki.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Wheeler Cemetery with Rev. Damon Launius officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prosperity Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net .
