Travis Daniel Wells, of Fordyce, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on his 84th birthday on Friday December 6, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1940 in Bunn, AR. He was the son of the late Coyle Daniel Wells and Vera Abigale Rogers Wells. He was retired from J.A. Riggs Tractor Co. and was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where he had served as Deacon.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Wells Barnes, and his brother-in-law, Homer Dean Barnes. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn Ann Jacobs Wells of Fordyce; three children, Karen Moffett and husband Danny of Sheridan, Sheila Gaither and husband Randy of Bismarck, Craig Wells and wife Shannon of Sheridan; six grandchildren, Jay Moffett and wife Brittani, Josh Moffett and wife Megan, Ben Gaither, Brandon Gaither, Micah Gaither, Adalyn Wells; nine great-grandchildren, Adleigh Moffett, Asher Moffett, Cohen Moffett, Lawson Moffett, Griffin Moffett, Paxton Moffett, Fenleigh Moffett, Esleigh Moffett, Steeleigh Moffett.
He loved spending time with his wife, working in their garden, maintaining their property, riding backroads in their side by side, working on his tractor and traveling the state with their camper. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. For the majority of the last 40 years, he could be found on the week of their anniversary in June sitting on the bank of Lake Greeson, chasing the shade in his lawn chair, and waiting on the sunset. He would proudly answer to the name Legs, Daddy, Grandpa, and Papoo.
A visitation will be held on Monday December 16,2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Services will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Wells and grandsons Ben Gaither, Jay Moffett, Josh Moffett, Brandon Gaither, and Micah Gaither. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Barnes, Bill Wells, James Garner, and James (Bubba) Johnson.
