Thomas James Pride

Thomas James "Jim" Pride, 92, of Fordyce, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. John's Place in Fordyce. He was born October 12, 1916 in Fordyce. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fordyce and a retired Timber Procurement Agent for Georgia-Pacific in Fordyce. He was also an Army World War II veteran serving in the Pacific 81st Wild Cat division. He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Pride and Lillie Herring Pride; sisters, Hazel Burkett and Cornelia Tomlinson; brother, Edward "Red" Pride. He is survived by his wife, Doris Pride of Fordyce; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Phyllis Pride of Dewitt, IA; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Charles Reed of Gillett, AR; two grandchildren, Thomas Andrew Pride and wife Joan of West Des Moines, IA, and Brent Reed of Gillett, AR. Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Monday at Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce with Rev. Dusty Rhodes and Rev.
