Thomas J. Bowen, 80, of Sherwood died Tuesday November 18, 2008 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock. He was born October 19, 1928 in Calhoun County. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood and was a retired railroad clerk for Missouri Pacific and was an active member of the Rock Island Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Emma Evans Bowen, six sisters, Gladys Misenheimer, Ollie Strickland, Beatrice Strickland, Ila Mae Strickland, Myrtle Craig and Mamie Manning; two brothers, Charles Junior Bowen and A.J. Bowen. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Bowen of Sherwood; two sons, David Bowen of Hampton and Allen Bowen of Sherwood; one daughter, Tammy Roberson of North Little Rock; one sister, Florene Tyler of Benton; four grandchildren, Rachael Fleming of Duluth, MN, Ashley Bowen of Collierville, TN, Ciara Bowen and Laina Bowen both of Sherwood; one great-grandchild, Weston Bowen of Collierville, TN. Visitation will be 10:00 am Thursday at Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood with funeral services following at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert Harris and Rev. Freddy Bowen officiating.
