Theda Marks Childress

Theda Marks Childress, 88, of Fordyce, died Thursday July 16, 2009 at her home. She was born in New Edinburg, AR on January 5, 1921 to the late John & Minnie Atkins Livingston. Mrs. Childress was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Fordyce. She loved to cook & do yard work. Mrs. Childress was a retired salesperson for Watson's Pharmarcy & Moore's Drugstore.

She is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Elizabeth) Marks of Bryant, AR, Jerry Marks of Little Rock, AR; a daughter, Judy (James) Kirkley of Crossett, AR; three sisters, Irene Lindsey of Wills Point, TX, Anita Livingston of Little Rock, AR, Janice Brown of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Carla McDougald, Sheila Keen, Mike Kirkley, Michelle Ashley; & six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Rev. A.D. Livingston, Jack Livingston, & John Livingston.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday July 18, 2009 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Graves Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Lindsey & Rev. Mike McEuen officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
