Sybil Gatling, 95, of Fordyce died Monday November 29, 2021 at the Dallas County Medical Center. Born September 27, 1926 at Lillie, Louisiana, she was a daughter of the late Frank Snearly and Emma LaBeff Snearly. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Fordyce First Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Gatling; a brother, Wayne Snearly; a sister; Edith Sindle; and a grandchild, Holly Young.
She is survived by her son, Don Gatling and his wife, Marquita of Fordyce; two sisters, Robbie Shilling of Glade, OR and Linda Stephens of Redding, CA; one brother, Larry Snearly of Reno, NV; a grandchild, Debbie Raney and her husband, Wayne of Fordyce; nine great grandchildren, Blake Barner, Brian Barner, Brady Barner, Grant Young, Madison Campbell, Hope Young, Carson Young, Alanna Raney, Eric Raney; six great-great grandchildren, Caden and Logan Barner, Kinley and Mason Smith, Cannon Cooper, Natiley Raney; and multiple nieces, nephews,and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Fordyce First Assembly of God with services following at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Nathan Hubbard and Rev. Kevin Hornaday officiating. Burial will follow at Moss Cemetery.
