Samantha Reed

Apr 12, 1971 — Oct 6, 2026

Samantha Reed, 55, of Hampton, Arkansas, went to be with her lord and savior on October 6, 2026. She was born April 12, 1971, in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Samantha was a devoted Christian who lived her life with strength, honesty, generosity, and a determination to remain positive even through difficult times. She was a hardworking woman who spent 21 years working at Cross Oil in Smackover, where she was a dedicated employee. Samantha was known for her strength and perseverance, always doing her best to continue moving forward and be there for the people she loved.

Family was at the center of Samantha’s life. She enjoyed every moment spent with her husband Jimmy Reed. Also, she was incredibly proud of her three daughters, Amber Richardson, Ashley Maass, and Tymber Kent. She was especially proud of the women her daughters had become and loved nothing more than spending time with them and their families.

Samantha adored being a Nana. Her grandchildren, Kole Richardson, Rylee Richardson, Allie Maass, and Abbie Maass, held a precious place in her heart. She treasured her time with them and took great pride in watching them grow.

She is also survived by her father, Larry Rinehart and her siblings, Kilatha Hargis, Wayne Rinehart, and Tabby Horton, along with other extended family and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Samantha was the person who loved bringing everyone together. She enjoyed planning family gatherings, celebrations, and special occasions, always finding a reason for the people she loved to spend time together. She loved listening to older country music, and could spend hours watching Hallmark movies. She especially loved Christmas movies, she was perfectly happy watching them in the middle of July.

She was honest and straightforward, but always believed in treating others with kindness. One of the things she often reminded her family was, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Her giving nature and positive attitude were reflected in the countless little things she did for the people around her.

Samantha also had a way of making the ordinary parts of life meaningful. She loved calling her family in the mornings and evenings simply to catch up and chit-chat. Those phone calls became part of the rhythm of everyday life, and hearing her voice on the other end of the phone is something her family will miss deeply.

Samantha is survived by her husband, Jimmy Reed; her daughters, Amber Richardson and husband Murry, Ashley Maass and husband Matthew, and Tymber Kent and husband Kane; her beloved grandchildren, Kole, Rylee, Allie, and Abbie; her siblings, Kilatha Hargis, Wayne Rinehart, and Tabby Horton; and numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Drew Hodnett, her beloved Mamaw, Sarah, and numerous other extended beloved family members.

Samantha’s life was defined by the love she gave so freely to the people around her. She showed up. She made the phone calls. She planned the gatherings. She remembered the little things that mattered to the people she loved. Her family will carry those memories with them and will miss her more than words can express.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hampton First Assembly of God with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Campground Cemetery.
