Ruth Brock Tabor

Ruth Brock Tabor from Sparkman joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, January 13, 2020. She was born in Murfreesboro, Arkansas June 30, 1921.

Ruth was a member of First Assembly of God in Sparkman, Arkansas for sixty years. She served on the Dallas County Library Board, with distinction. She enjoyed a multitude of hobbies which included reading, sewing, cooking, painting, crafts and traveling.

She was the matriarch of the family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her seventh great-grandchild. She was honored to be married to Alfred Tabor, Jr., for sixty-four years, prior to him preceding her in death in 2006.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Mashburn (Carl) and Susan Sharpe (Larry); Four grandchildren, Brian Mashburn (April); Laura Tolleson (Jeremy); Craig Mashburn (Samantha) and Courtney Sharpe (Amanda); Six great-grandchildren, Bradley Tolleson; Bailey, Andrew, Brock, Parker and Lincoln Mashburn.

Pall bearers are: Brian and Craig Mashburn, Courtney Sharpe, Jeremy Tolleson, Dennis Nalls, Allen Garrett, Charlie Walsh and Floyd Holland. Honorary pall bearers are: Bradley Tolleson, Andrew and Brock Mashburn, Orville Wright, Winfard Freeman and Murphy Manning.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Sparkman First Assembly of God church, Sparkman, Arkansas, with services beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Sparkman Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God, Sparkman, Arkansas, or any charity of choice.
