Ruth Harper Jones, 87 of Thornton, died Friday, September 24, 2010 in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was born September 21, 1923 to the late Larkin and Ona Cathey Harper.
She was an elementary school teacher in Thornton and in Kingsland. She joined First Baptist Church of Thornton and was a member since 1942.
She is survived by her husband Herbert Jones of Thornton; son Jim Jones and wife Jamie of Thornton; grandson Richard Jones and wife Lisa of Rison; and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 AM at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel in Fordyce. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hampton. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.com .
