Ruby Rich of Fordyce passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Rich and son, Jimmy Rich; brothers Troy Easterling, Linnie Easterling, Bill Easterling, and Hugn Easterling; sister Pauline Wilson.
Ruby was born in Kingsland on a cotton farm, and her parents were Harry and Bama Easterling. She endured the Great Depression as a child, and other hardships that came along with rural Arkansas farm families. Most of her life she lived in Fordyce, where she was a homemaker and later worked as a cook. Her hobbies were quilting, cooking and going to church. She loved listening to gospel music. She looked forward to visits from her children and other relatives.
She leaves behind two sons, Bobby Dale Rich (Pat) from Bryant, Jackie Rich (Karen) from Bryant; four daughters, Peggy McClellan (Raymond) from Fordyce, Betty Joe Lenard (Jimmy) from West Monroe, LA, Rosie Moon from Camden, and Barbara Dalby (Robert) from Little Rock; two sisters, Louise Cagle formerly of Pine Bluff, and Lorene Best of West Monroe, LA; eighteen grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Fordyce First Assembly of God Church with Rev. B.L. Blann officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 12:30 until service time at the church on Thursday. Pallbearers are: Carlton McClellan Johnny Rich, Jay Rich, Kelby Lenard, Cason Moon, Robert Dalby. Honorary pallbearers are: Scott McClellan, Brian Rich, Matthew Lenard, Jackson Dalby.
