Ronald Gene “Fred” Carter made his way to his Heavenly home, surrounded by his family, on September 11, 2024. Fred was born on May 17, 1958 in Mesa, Arizona on Chandler Air Force Base to Arnold Grady and Gladys Cummings Carter, who awaited his arrival and greeted him at the Gates of Heaven. He was a resident of Harrell, before making his home at St John’s Place in Fordyce.

Left to cherish his memories are his children Jordan Carter & Cortney of North Little Rock & Hunter Carter & Chana of Hampton. Three Grandchildren, Trevor, Trent and Reese of Hampton. His “Favorites” Charlyn “Sissy” Hackett and Ashley Gates-Loyd. Sisters Glenda Gaenzel of Pleasanton, Texas and Paula Sue Gates of Harrell. Brothers Robert “Bobby” Carter of Newport, Grady Carter of Conway & Danny Ray Carter of Wilmar. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Fred retired from the Medical Center of South Arkansas, where he worked in purchasing and shipping. He was known for his contagious laugh and outgoing personality. You could always catch him singing his Gospel hymns. Fred was a friend to all and never met a stranger.
