Roger Ray Pennington, Sr., 67, of Fordyce died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born March 7, 1949 in Bearden, Arkansas. He was a retired maintenance worker for the Fordyce Public Schools. He is preceded in death by his parents, Darrell Marion Pennington and Jessie Erma Lee Gresham Pennington; one son, John Douglas Pennington; two daughters, Jo Nell Mobbs, and Mary Beth Jones; three brothers, Robert Bull, Leroy Owens, and Darrell Eugene Pennington; and one sister, Bessie Lloyd. He is survived by his wife, Martha Pennington of Fordyce; three sons, Roger Pennington, Jr. of Fordyce, Ronnie Ray Pennington of Kingsland, and Donnie Ray Pennington of Lockesburg; four daughters, Elizabeth Peebles of Thornton, Theresa Evans of Bearden, Connie Bever of Gurdon, and Tracey Rogers of Bearden; one sister, Jessie Fleener of Jessieville; twenty grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Salem Cemetery near Bearden with Rev. Shane Matthews officiating.
