Robert "Bob" Delbert Murphy

Robert "Bob" Delbert Murphy, 79, of Fordyce died Tuesday January 3, 2012 at his home. Born May 13, 1932 at Parkdale, he was the son of the late Hayward Delbert and Lula Mae McAllister Murphy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea, and a carpenter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Murphy. He is survived by a son, Hayward Murphy (Brenda) of Lilburn, GA; daughter, Becky Prewitt (Bobby) of Sherwood; ten grandchildren, Zack and Melissa Humphrey of Bearden, Zeb, Jeremy and Danielle Humphrey of Sherwood, John and Leslie Murphy of Lilburn, GA, Lorin and Dan Allison of Loganville, GA, Ashley Nicole Prewitt of Little Rock; ten great-grandchildren; Taylor, Chandler, Peyton, Tate, Benjamin, Allyssa, Jordan, Carter, Chase, and Amelia. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
