Robert Morgan Baker Jr.

Robert Morgan Baker, Jr., age 72 of Hampton died Saturday, December 2, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sherwood, Arkansas. He was born June 7, 1951 in New Bern, NC. Robert entered the U.S. Air Force in October of 1969, serving as an air traffic controller during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in October of 1975. He graduated from U.A.M. with a forestry degree. He was a county forester for the State of Arkansas working in Calhoun, Union, Ouachita and Bradley County.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Morgan Baker, Sr. and Muriel Jeanette Watkins Baker; and wife, Deborah Parker Baker. He is survived by two sons, Shaun Michael Carter of New Orleans, LA, Robert M. “Trae” Baker, III and wife Tricia of Monticello; three daughters, Laura Catherine Floyd and husband Brandon of Hampton, Tisha Michelle Mills and husband Matt of Benton, Felicia Elizabeth Akers of Monticello; one sister, Barbara Wiser of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren, Aaron Michael Floyd, Morgan Elizabeth Ogden, Wesley Jeremy Ogden, Kennedy Noel Mills, Erik Jase Akers, and Finn Mackson Harper.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Arkansas Forestry Association and AFA Education Foundation at www.arkforests.org/donations/ . Visitation will be Monday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Union Grove Cemetery in Hampton with Rev. Mike Nutt officiating.
