Richard Courtney, 59, of Thornton died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was born June 12, 1957 in Fordyce, Arkansas. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and he was a Mason. Richard was a retired boiler operator for Georgia-Pacific. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin F. Courtney and Freddie Inez Livingston Courtney. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Courtney of Thornton; two sons, Michael Wayne (Kristal) Courtney of Camden, Stephen Doyle (Cherise) Courtney of Fordyce; one daughter, Jessica Michelle Cook of Thornton; one brother, Robert Dale (Shelia) Courtney of Fordyce; one sister, Dianne Slater of Portland, OR; nine grandchildren, Karly Williams, Brayden Courtney, Bryce Courtney, Gabriel Courtney of Fordyce, Kiera Courtney, Kaden Courtney of Camden, Madeline Cook, Brody Cook, and Sawyer Cook of Thornton. Visitation will be Monday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Jones and Rev.
