Rex Wise Hearnsberger

Rex Wise Hearnsberger, 84, of Little Rock, born September 3, 1925 in Fordyce, AR, passed away on August 16, 2010 in Little Rock, AR. As a navy medic attached to the 2nd Marine Division, he was the youngest of six brothers who all served in combat during World War II. He accompanied the 1st American troops into Nagasaki, Japan after it was bombed. Also a veteran of the Korean Conflict, he continued his military career in the army. A second career was completed with the Federal Reserve Bank in Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katherine Ferrell Hearnsberger; daughter Kathy Loftis; son Kim Hearnsberger; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and sister Edna Baker.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.com .
