Raymond D. Kellogg, age 80, died September 12, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Okla., his home of many years. He was born August 1, 1939. A native of Fordyce, he graduated from Fordyce High School in 1957. He enjoyed a long career as an air traffic controller and instructor, working at control centers in Washington, D.C.; Anchorage, Alaska; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Oklahoma City. After retiring from the FAA, he became a certified arborist and operated a tree care business for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Irene Smith Kellogg, his wife of 43 years, Bettie Ann (Gatton) Kellogg, and his brother- in- law Thomas (Buddy) Dew. He is survived by two sons, John Kellogg and Jason Kellogg, and two daughters, Sharon Wortham (G. R.) and Stacey Kellogg Feith (John), as well as by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition, he is survived by his longtime companion, Marlene “Marti” Salmons of Oklahoma City, her two children, Jim Salmons and Jenifer Horn-Williams, and their families; his sisters, Bobbye Kellogg Bryant (Myrle) of Houston, Tex and Bettye Kellogg Dew of St. Louis, Mo., and their families. He will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Cemetery near Fordyce on Sept. 28, at 11:00 a.m. To sign the online register visit
