Porter Evart Sheets, 77, of Fordyce, died Friday October 10, 2008 at St. John's Place Nursing Home. He was born in Point Cedar, AR on August 22, 1931 to the late Meyers Franklin & Carola I. Sheets. Mr. Sheets was a retired logger and a Baptist. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army & the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening.
Mr. Sheets is survived by his son, Oscar Sheets of Kennewick, WA; a daughter, Alice Stallsworth of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Ralph Sheets of Springfield, MO, Franklin Sheets of Hot Springs, AR; a sister, Melvia Wieder of Cincinnati, OH; & numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, & cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Sheets, & three sisters, Lina Sheets, Myrtle McRae, Pearl Meeks.
