Philip Eugene Launius, 68, of Fordyce died Friday, July 3, 2015 at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was born August 28, 1946 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Phil served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later retired from the Army National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and the D.A.V. Phil worked for International Paper for thirty three years and the Pine Bluff Arsenal for seven years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nolen Jackson "Cotton" Launius and Beatrice Joyce David Launius; and one son, Wesley Gene Launius. He is survived by his wife of forty five years Billie Ruth Launius of Fordyce; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Joline Launius of Hampton; three brothers, Robert Launius of White House, TN, Harold Launius of Little Rock, John Launius of Hot Springs; one sister, Phyllis Freeman of Gurdon; and three grandchildren, Colton Launius, Hope Launius and Tristan Launius all of Hampton. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Dunn and Rev. B.L.
