Phil C. Matthews

Phil C. Matthews (Papaw), 98, of Tulip died Monday November 4, 2024. Born October 3, 1926 at Tulip, he was a son of the late Ben C. Matthews and Beatrice Elms Matthews.
Phil is preceded in death by his wife, Betty R. Matthews; one brother, George “Bo” Matthews; one daughter, Becky Sigal; one son, William Matthews.
He is survived by a son, Ben Matthews and wife, Donna of Mt. Vernon, WA; a daughter, Kay Dailey and husband Jack of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter-in-law, Diane Matthews of Fordyce; three step-sons, Mike McFarland and wife Donna of Russellville, James Allen and wife Teresa of Camden, Larry Allen and wife Jeri of Benton; a sister, Ellen Botsford and husband Larry of North Little Rock; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Tulip Cemetery near Carthage with Rev. Rick Bolin officiating. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net .
