Paul V. Womble, 74 of Waldo, died Wednesday. He was born August 3, 1942 in Cleveland County to the late Needo and Cora Swayze Womble. He was retired from the National Guard and served as a police office and county deputy. He was also preceded in death by his wife Pearl Pate Womble; his son Paul Wayne Womble; and his sister Catherine Anderson.
He is survived by his brother Truman Womble and wife Ruth of Fordyce; his niece Teresa Watson and husband Tim of Fordyce; his great-nephew Samuel Downen of Fordyce; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services are 10 AM Saturday at First Assembly of God Church in Fordyce. Burial at Salem Cemetery. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net .
