Paul Joyce Pennington Jr.

Paul Joyce Pennington, Jr., 79, of Thornton died Sunday April 7, 2019 at Dallas County Medical Center. Born April 24, 1939 at Bucksnort, he was a son of the late Paul Joyce Pennington, Sr. and Gladys Marie Jarrett Pennington.
He was a heavy equipment operator at Georgia-Pacific. He was a good husband and father. Paul was a deacon at Bethesda Baptist Church. His greatest love was going on mission trips. He went on a total of twenty two mission trips, nine of them to Brazil.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vivian Garlington. He is survived by his wife, Linda Pennington of Thornton; son, Stephen Pennington (Tina) of Alexander; daughter, Paula Gill (Mike) of Little Rock; brother, Jerry Pennington of White Hall; sister, Brenda Russell of Fordyce; five grandchildren, Drew Pennington, Ryan Gill (Kaitie), Trevor Gill, Seth Pennington (Laney), Sean Pennington; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Gill, Henry Pennington; and best friend, Stuart Freeland.
The family will receive friends Tuesday April 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 10, 2019 at Chambersville Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
