Orie Thomas Selman

Orie Thomas "Buddy" Selman, 82, of Fordyce, died Monday July 6, 2009. Mr. Selman was born in New Edinburg, AR on April 25, 1927 to the late John and Evie Word Selman. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fordyce.

Mr. Selman is survived by his wife Jean Selman, a son Tommy Selman and his wife Ray of Pine Bluff, AR; a daughter in-law, Vickey Selman of Fordyce, AR; a sister, Syble Steelman of Alvarado, TX; four grandchildren, Chad Selman of Pine Bluff, AR, Jamie Selman of Sheridan, AR, Jennifer Hendrix of Fordyce, AR, Christie Dorrell of Fordyce, AR; and ten great grandchildren. Mr. Selman was preceded in death by his son, Larry Selman, his wife Mary Selman, two brothers, Rex & Waymon Selman, four sisters, Henrietta Beaver, Maudie Marie Jones, Ruth Rogers, and Roberta Lamb.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday July 8, 2009 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel in Fordyce. Burial will be in McCoy Cemetery near New Edinburg, with the Rev. B.L. Blann and Rev.
