Milton Monroe “Mickey” Moore, age 88, of Jacinto left the confines of his earthly body Tuesday, March 31, 2020, in Fordyce after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born March 3, 1932, in Jacinto, the third son of the late George Dewey and Amy Lucille Green Moore. He was a member of the Fordyce United Methodist Church. He served in the Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the offset press printing business in Camden and Memphis before finding the work that he really loved in the timber industry in South Arkansas. He enjoyed camping, fishing, telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Dail Moore and Rex Moore.
His survivors include his wife, Janice Moore of Jacinto; a son, Mike (Karen) Moore of Little Rock; three daughters, Lynn (Darrell) Coston of Fordyce, Sandra (Raul) Munoz of Rosenburg, Texas and Monica Denton of Malvern; his brother, Don (Frances) Moore of Hot Springs; twelve grandchildren, Chad (Kristy) Hallinger, Kevin Brown, Heath (Audrey) Hallinger, Jennifer Brown, Ryan Hallinger, Kyle Hallinger, Russell (Kelby) Denton, Blake (Josey) Coston, Emily Brown, Shelby (John Franklin) Matros, Trent (Brieann) Coston and John Michael McCollett; and numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no visitation.
A family graveside service will be 10AM Thursday at the Macedonia Cemetery near Sparkman. A celebration of Mickey’s life is planned for a date to be determined after the current COVID-19 pandemic has subsided at the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church pavilion in Jacinto.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and aides of the Fordyce Hospital and Hospice Home Care for the special care given to Mickey and Janice during these last weeks of his life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital or Ben Few Campground. Arrangements are by the Benton Funeral Home.
