Mildred Elizabeth Hurst Berry

Mildred Elizabeth Hurst Berry, 79, of Ivan passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at her home. Mildred Berry was born February 12, 1931 at Fordyce, Arkansas to Ed and Jewel Sloop Hurst. She married Nathaniel Harrison Berry in 1950. Mrs. Berry was a retired LPN and worked over twenty years at Dallas County Hospital. She was a member of Broadway Church of Christ.

Mrs. Berry is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Nathaniel Harrison Berry of the home; six children, Kenneth (Vivian) Berry of Ivan, Robert E. "Bob" (Connie)Berry of Fordyce, Nena Berry (Myles) Clement of Sheridan, Deberah Berry (Jack) Brooks of Jacksonville, Joyce Berry (Frank) Hearitige of Bismarck and Mark Berry of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Louise Ray of Ouachita and Margie Pennington of Rison; one brother, Robert Lee Hurst of Sheridan; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carrol Hurst and Russell Hurst and one sister, Maxine McElroy. Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Duane Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Garner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Red Cross, the Heart and Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
