Mildred Donham Burke, age 89 of Thornton, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013. Born February 17, 1924 in Drew County, she was a school teacher, seamstress, and homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Thornton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ethel Donham; her husband Walter M. Burke, Jr.; two brothers, Ralph and James Donham; three sisters, Mary Katherine Haltom, Helen Dennis, and Madie Haynie.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Nutt of Little Rock; three sons, Garey Burke and wife Pat Thornton; Randy Burke of Thornton; and Dennis Burke and wife Cindy of Thornton; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 PM until 8 PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Thornton Cemetery.
