Michael Wayne Byars

Michael Wayne Byars, 58 of Fordyce, died Friday, November 22, 2013. He was born August 17, 1955 in Camden, Arkansas to Jean Byars and the late John Byars. Mike was the owner of JMR Tire Service and a member of Zion Baptist Church where he was actively involved in the church youth ministry.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Susan Byars of Fordyce; two daughters, Shea (Steve) Ruark and Lindsey (Marty) Smith all of Fordyce; his mother Jean Byars of Fordyce; one brother Randy (Stephanie) Byars of Bearden; one sister Shelia Archey of Hampton; 8 grandchildren: Vince Ruark of Gallatin, TN, PFC Michael Scott of Fort Carson, CO, Elizabeth Smith of Fordyce, Meagan Smith of Fordyce, Jackson Ruark of Fordyce, John Ruark of Fordyce, Taylor Smith of Kingsland, Dillon Smith of Kingsland; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10AM Tuesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Stoney Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the ZBC Youth Ministry, c/o Zion Baptist Church, 989 Hwy 229, Fordyce, AR 71742.
