Merl Crowder

Merl Crowder, 92 of Carthage, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Fordyce. He was born March 14, 1922 in Ivy, Arkansas to the late James A. and Altha Riggan Crowder. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Gladys Gertrude Crowder and his son Michael Crowder.

He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Morris and husband Don of Carthage, Kathy Hendrix of Carthage, and Debra Overton of Lonoke; one brother Delton Crowder of Warren; seven grandchildren Shane Morris of Bryant, Heather Morris of Chicago, Illinois, Michael Hendrix of Carthage, Jeremy Hendrix of Jacksonville, Brandi Sparks of Glen Rose, Russell "Rusty" Overton of Lonoke, and Robyn Crews of North Little Rock; and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church near Carthage.
