Mercille Mcmurry Summers

Mercille McMurry Summers, 89, of Fordyce, died Thursday July 17, 2008 at the Dallas County Medical Center. Mrs. Summers was born in Dallas County Arkansas on August 10, 1918 to the late John & Ida Belle Crouse McMurry. She was a retired Deputy Clerk for Dallas County, & a member of the First Baptist Church of Fordyce.

She is survived by her son, John Summers of Fordyce, AR; three nephews, H.E. Summers, Homer Dean Barnes, Bill Barnes; three nieces, Laura Hoffman, Christine Morgan, Celia Moore; and a sister in-law, Lillian Malone of El Paso, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Summers, & a brother, Rhine McMurry.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday July 19, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Fordyce. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery, with the Rev. Stacy Reed & Rev. Ken Shaddox officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fordyce, or to the Gideons.
