Melvin Leroy Jones

Melvin Leroy Jones, 83, of New Edinburg died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at St. John's Place in Fordyce. He was born November 27, 1931 in Garden City, KS, a son of the late Melvin E. Jones and Edna Oletha Hamilton Jones. Melvin retired as a Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force after twenty three years of service. He also retired from the Arkansas Highway Department as a supervisor for the auto/diesel mechanic department. He is preceded in death by one son, Captain Donald Lee Jones, who was killed in the line of duty with the Jacksonville Fire Department. Melvin is survived by his wife Wanna Faye David Jones of New Edinburg; three sons, Michael Ray Jones and wife Terri of Bryant, David Bruce Jones of Dallas, TX, and Jon Jay Jones and wife Jennifer of New Edinburg; five grandchildren, Courtney Brook Jones of Little Rock, Shae Nicole Ellis and husband Ben of Bryant, Lee Michael Jones of Bryant, Morgan Deanne Colvert of Cabot, Shelby Lynn Jones of Bryant; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Asher Ellis both of Bryant.
