Melba Verline Cox, 69, of Crossett died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. She was born September 4, 1939 in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her father, Bartee Hornaday, husband, Vergil Chester Cox and grandson, Grant Summerland. She is survived by her mother, Robbie Hornaday of Crossett; son, Michael Cox of Fountain Hill; daughter, Connie Summerland of Crossett; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Monday 4pm until 6pm at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at McCoy Cemetery near New Edinburg with Rev. Justin Akers officiating.
