Maudie Eugenia "Jean" Dennis, 85, of Hampton died Friday, August 16, 2013 at Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. She was born August 7, 1928 in Calhoun County, Arkansas. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Union Grove Assembly of God Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee Johnston and Maudie Ora McCann Johnston; husband, William Fred Dennis; brother, Earl Johnston; sister, Audra Word; granddaughter, Laura Dennis; and sister-in-law, Melinda Dennis. She is survived by five sons, Lawrence Dennis and wife Lise-Marie of Baytown, TX, Raymond Dennis and wife Shirley of Long Beach, CA, John Dennis of Lakewood, CA, Rodney Dennis and wife Donna of Long Beach, CA, and Kenneth Dennis and wife Tamara of Hampton; brother-in-law, Hughlin Word of Russellville; sister-in-law, Christine Johnston of Hampton; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Union Grove Assembly of God with Rev. Benjy McCann and Rev.
