Mary Katherine Barnes

Mary Katherine Whitmore Barnes, 83 of Fordyce, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was born October 2, 1930 to the late Harve and Mary Whitmore. She was preceded in death by her husband C.H. Barnes, Jr.; her son Tommy Barnes, one brother, three sisters, her mother-in-law Alice Graf, and her father-in-law Carl Barnes, Sr.
She is survived by two sons, David Barnes and wife Susan of Fordyce and Seth Barnes and wife Scarlett of Batesville; her daughter-in-law Kookie Barnes of Monticello; her sister Jessie Furrer and husband Chic of Ferndale; grandchildren Luke Barnes, Micah Barnes, Grant Barnes and wife Laci, Spencer Barnes, and Sumner Barnes; her great-grandchild Tucker Barnes; and her mother-in-law Mary L. Barnes.
Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6PM until 8PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dallas County Medical Center, Zion Baptist Church, or to the Tommy Wayne Barnes Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
