Mary Lynn Bowen, 90, of Sherwood died Friday, September 4, 2026, at Hospice Comfort Care in Little Rock. She was born August 22, 1936, in Calhoun County.

She was a member of Northview Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Mary started her career as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone in El Dorado. She met the love of her life, Tom Bowen, also from Hampton, after he finished his service in the army. They married and moved briefly to Alexandria, LA, before establishing their home in Sherwood. After raising her children, she returned to the workforce as a receptionist for MAPCO.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Tom Bowen; parents Horace and Stella McKinnie; two sisters, Hester McKinnie and Helen Oliver; a brother, Dean McKinnie; and two nephews, Mike Oliver and Rick McKinnie.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Roberson (Rob) of North Little Rock; two sons, David Bowen of Hampton and Allen Bowen of Sherwood; grandchildren Rachael Fleming, Blake Roberson, Brad Roberson, Jennifer Lindsey, Ciara Bowen, and Laina Bowen; great-grandchildren Birdie Bowen, Chase Roberson, and Savanah Roberson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2026 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Northview Baptist Church, 6801 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Freddie Bowen officiating. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in Means Cemetery near Hampton. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Mary supported many charities. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Means Cemetery Association 2180 N US 167 Hampton, AR 71744 or to a charity of your choice.
