Marvin Selph, age 78 of Sparkman, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Arkansas. He was born September 8, 1940 in Sparkman to the late William and Irma Beatrice Deaton Selph.
Marvin served in the Navy for 5 years and worked at the International Paper Company in Camden for over 40 years. He loved raising cows, being outdoors and gardening. His grandkids were his pride and joys. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Selph and Bill Selph; and one sister, Elizabeth Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Billie Jo Freeman Selph; two daughters, Cindy and Charlie Dickey of Camden, and Lynn and Steve Mann of Sparkman; four grandkids, Russ and Bonnie Mann of Sparkman, David and Kristen Dickey of Beggs, OK, Jordan Mann of Sparkman and Shelby and Colton Nimmo of Camden; 14 great grandkids; and three great-great grandkids; one brother, Robert and Linda Selph of Kerens, TX; and one sister, Cricket Maffit of Hot Springs; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 13 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 14 at Sparkman First Baptist Church with Rev. James Guthrie and Rev. Max Deaton officiating. Burial will follow at Sparkman Cemetery.
