Martiel Clark Womble

Martiel Clark Womble, 85, of Thornton died Tuesday June 2, 2015 at Greenhouse Cottages in Rison. Born September 22, 1929 at DeQueen, she was a daughter of the late James Jerome and Neva O. Reynolds Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Edward Womble. She was a registered nurse for many years, and was very active in the community and her church. She is survived by two sons, Clark Edward Womble (Karen) of Birmingham, AL, Benjamin Thomas Womble (Stephanie) of Gulf Breeze, FL; two daughters, Rebecca Womble Richardson (Howell) of Wake Village, TX, Demaris "Dee" Womble Elkins (Mark) of Little Rock; two sisters Agnes Elms Oliver of Kilgore, TX, Jamie Brandon of Fordyce; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Keller, Laura Watkins, Katie Edwards, Howell "Trey" Richardson, Aaron Womble, Jeremy Womble, Chris Elkins; six great-grandchildren, Perrin Richardson, Brielle Richardson, Oliver Edwards, Ellery Edwards, Edward Keller, Ava Watkins. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thornton or Fordyce First United Methodist Church.
