Martha Louise Word

Martha Louise Word, 83, of Bearden died Monday, April 13, 2015 at her home. She was born August 9, 1931 in Chidester, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Warner Spur Assembly of God Church in Harmony Grove. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul Lee and Pearl Cathey Lee; husband, Thomas Wesley Word, Jr; and one brother, Bobby Lee. She is survived by five sons, Sammy Word of Bearden, Robby Word of Thornton, Ricky Word of Bearden, David Word of Alma, Tony Word of Bearden; one daughter, Linda Burns of Moberly, MO; one sister, Patsy Parkis of New Mexico; twenty two grandchildren, fifty three great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday at the family home in Bearden. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Warner Spur Assembly of God Church with Rev. David Word and Rev. Damon Launius officiating. Burial will follow at Word Cemetery in Bearden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Warner Spur Assembly of God Church. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
