Martha Jean Page Nichols, 73, of Galveston, TX passed from this life on Monday, February 25, 2019. She was born May 22, 1945, in Hope, AR. She was an active grandmother, mother and friend and loved her home in Galveston. We could say that she lost her battle to cancer, but she really won her battle with life. Jean loved deeply and had many close relationships that endured for decades. She also had many “new” friendships that developed throughout her life. She never lost her hope, peace or joy, and continued to love those around her until she passed. Her last full day on this earth was spent celebrating a birthday with some of her family members, sitting on the deck, watching the waves roll in, while basking in the sun. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful woman. Jean was a 26 year member of First Colony Church of Christ in Sugar Land, TX and most recently a member of Broadway Church of Christ in Galveston.
She lived a life full of passion and giving, and is well known for her many acts of kindness serving those she loved, and many she never knew. She loved her friends and family quietly, yet actively, and clearly demonstrated the traits of her Savior, Jesus Christ, to anyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Glenn Nichols, Jr., daughter, Lindsay Nichols, parents Albert Larence Page and Hazel Bumgardner Page, sister Peggy Ann Page and brother-in-law, J.D. “Bubba” McCord. She is survived by her three sons, Christopher Glenn Nichols, his wife Emily and their children Caroline and Blake of Richardson, TX; Timothy Larence Nichols, and his children Hays, Asher, Taviah and Salem of Dallas, TX; Jeffrey Page Nichols, his wife Julie and their children Dante, Sadie, Gavin, Penny, Deacon, Jules, Cash and Linden of Northlake, TX; and her sister Pattie Page McCord of Little Rock, AR. Her Memorial Service will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 2, at First Colony Church of Christ, Sugar Land, Texas. Private graveside services will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery in Fordyce, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to Second Mile Mission 504 FM 1092 Stafford, TX 77477(
