Martha Ellen Reeves Cox departed this life on Friday, August 29,2025. She was born January 5, 1947 in Gunnison, Mississippi to Elbert Scofield Reeves Jr. and Jessie Irene Vaughn Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Joy Dawn Lunsford Lindsey, a sister Reba Nell Reeves Dunlap, a brother George William Reeves, and a great nephew Grasyn Andrew Dunlap.

She is survived by the love of her life Donald Odell Cox of Kingsland, a daughter Karla Jo Lunsford Hughes and her favorite Son in law Spencer of Bauxite, Arkansas, her sister Bessie Elizabeth Reeves Alexander (Bill) of Sheridan, Arkansas, brothers Richard Earl Reeves(Sylvia) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Marion Wesley Reeves (Darla) of Redfield, Arkansas, two special sisters in laws Juanita Reeves of Temple, Texas, and Vicki Peters of Kingsland. Her pride and joy Grandsons Gary Linn Lindsey and Brandon Michael Lindsey of Both of Alma, Arkansas, Randolph Tyler Hughes(Michelle) of Caledonia, Mississippi, Jacob McCandle Hughes(Alexis) of Hensley, Arkansas, eight great granddaughters Raylee Dawn Lindsey, MaKenzie Dawn Lindsey, Hailey Marie Lindsey, Gracelynn Heather Renee Lindsey, Auden Joy Faye Lindsey, Ila Dion Lindsey, Amelia Jade Lindsey and Cheyenne Nicole Grace Hughes, one great grandson Ashton Kai Hughes and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She attended White Hall Schools and Southeast College at Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

She worked for a number of years in the food service industry, George Motes Automotive, before retiring from Jim Walter Homes.

She was an avid bowler where she bowled in over 34 state tournaments and numerous national tournaments . She loved going on cruises with her bowling friends and sister, dancing, and loved to travel around with her husband camping their way through many states many summers. She loved spending time with her grands and great-grands and made some of the best memories with them.

She was a member of Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, Arkansas on Monday September 1, 2025 from 6PM-8PM with her final service held at Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday September 2 at 10AM.
