Marla Mechelle Rogers was born December 18, 1963, in Fordyce, Arkansas to Roy Eugene Rogers and Bonnie Hood Rogers of Kingsland. Marla passed peacefully on August 18, 2024, in CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.
Marla is preceded in death by her father, Roy, and her brother, Christopher Morrow Rogers. She is survived by her mother, Bonnie, three daughters Cassie Caldwell-Estell (Huey), Gennifer Morrow Davidson (Brandon), Hannah Bolin Odom (Brett), and her grandchildren Frankie, Patton, William, Adelyn, Novalee, and Asher. She is also survived by her brother Stuart K. Rogers and sister-in-law Trish Rogers, their children Jacob (Jaki), Justin, and Emilie, and their grandchildren Waverly and Aria.
Marla grew up singing in her hometown church, Kingsland Methodist Church, where she built a strong foundation of faith that she carried with her throughout her life. She was a member of the Kingsland High School Class of 82. A graduate of Southern Arkansas University, she went on to become a dedicated teacher, committing many years to inspiring and educating her students.
Above all, Marla’s greatest pride was her grandchildren. They were the light of her life and brought her immeasurable joy as she adored them with her unconditional, endless love.
A graveside service will be held Friday, 10:00 am, at Cross Roads Cemetery in Kingsland, Arkansas.
The family would like to extend our love and appreciation to the nurses and staff who helped care for Marla. We would also like to thank our extended families and the Kingsland community for their love and kindness throughout the years. Marla will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
