Marion L. Selby

Marion L. "Pop" Selby, 66, of Bearden, AR, passed from this life to his new home on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Selby was born in Thebes, AR on February 14, 1944 to the late Raymond & Muriel Selby. He was retired from Arkla Taylor Inc. of El Dorado, AR after 17 years of dedicated hard work as a diesel mechanic and go to man. Mr. Selby honorably & faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife & best friend of 23 wonderful years, Cindy Lamb Selby of Bearden, AR; three sons, Tony Selby of Coal Hill, AR, Jeff Kelly of Bearden, AR, Derek Williams of East Camden, AR; three daughters, Sthveny Selby, Mendy Kelly, Frances Williams; adopted son & daughter, Ronnie Binns & Tracey Binns of Bearden, AR; three very special granddaughters, Jessica & Ashley Selby of Coal Hill, AR, Madison Williams of East Camden, AR; a grandson Christian Selby, & one expected grandson, James Ray Kelly; two brothers, Ray & Carolyn Selby of Lovington, NM, John Hurbert & Phyliss Selby of Rison, AR; a sister, Kaye & Ronnie Phillips of Rison, AR; & many Uncles & Aunts who loved, cared for, & raised him. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Selby.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday June 5, 2010 at the Moss Hill Cemetery in Bearden, AR, with the Rev. Jerry Selby officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Bearden. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
