Marie Emerson, 72, of Fordyce died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. She was born January 8, 1938 in Hamburg, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Dunn; her husband, Jackie Emerson, Sr.; son, Paul Wayne Emerson; sister-in-law, Connie Emerson and brother-in-law, Bill Emerson. She is survived by her mother, Maudie Dunn of Fordyce; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Teresa Emerson of Louann, Brian Emerson of Ellisville Community; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Glenn Miller of Fordyce; special friend, William Brown of Fordyce; four brothers, Tommy and Janice Emerson of Fordyce; Kenneth Emerson of Fordyce, Sam and Jo Ann Emerson of Fordyce, Ronnie and Chris Emerson of Bearden; six sisters, Mary and Tom Turner of Hampton, Kate and Bud Mercer of Tinsman, Betty Lucas, Pat and Bill Curl, Ida and Dale Cowls, Edna and Bruce Knight all of Hodgenville, KY; five grandchildren, Kalom and Kevin Emerson of Bearden, Kandy Pennington of Redfield, Cheri Barrett of Camden and Bradley Miller of Fordyce; five great-grandchildren, Kathan, Colton and Keeton Emerson all of Bearden, Kailee Riggs and Maggie Marie Barrett both of Camden. Visitation will be Monday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Oakgrove Cemetery with Rev. Harold Harper officiating.
