Major Stanley “Boo” McClellan, 62 of New Edinburg, was born March 28, 1964, to Major Melton McClellan and Betty Geneva Allen in Fordyce, Arkansas. He was called home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents, Major and Betty, as well as sisters Donna Kaye, Sherry Mae, and Regenia.

He leaves behind devoted wife of 42 years, Connie Sue (Spears) McClellan of New Edinburg; sisters Rita (Jim) Moss of Nacogdoches, TX, Cathy McClellan of Warren, AR, and Diana Walker of Longview, TX; Brother-in-law Kenny Jones of Lillie, LA; and children Alaina and Derrick Sims of Pahiatua, New Zealand, Kristen and Gordon White of Star City, and Stephen and Brooklyn McClellan of New Edinburg; grandchildren Isla and Iden Sims, Avery and Ashlyn Skelton, Taylor, KyleeAnne, and Gavin White, and Gabriel McClellan.

Affectionately known to many as Boo, Major had a larger-than-life personality. His laugh and humor were contagious. His hobbies included talking, working on CB Radios, and listening to good music. Boo was a hard worker. He spent 19 years employed at Georgia Pacific in Fordyce. He also enjoyed life as a chicken farmer and business owner. His life’s passion was serving others. His career in law enforcement spanned 40 years until he retired from the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Dept in January 2025.

Boo was a member of First Baptist Church in New Edinburg. The proud son of a Baptist preacher, he served the Lord in many ways over the years. If you were to ask him, his greatest accomplishment was being a loving husband to his wife, father to his children, and Pawpaw to his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

Arrangements will be made by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. A graveside service will be held at McCoy Cemetery in New Edinburg on Friday, June 5 at 10:00 AM with Bro. Jim Moss officiating. Memorials may be made to McCoy Cemetery.
