Magdalene Pharr Clement, age 95, passed away February 24, 2021 at her home in Hot Springs, Arkansas surrounded by her family. Magdalene was born July 1, 1925 in Booneville, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Clement, her daughter, Mary Gayle Childers, her parents, William and Mary Pharr, and three brothers, Paul Jack, W. P., and James Pharr. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Tutt and husband Wayne Tutt of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren, Tom and Clem Tutt, Will, Jon, Nik, MeLeah, and Zak Childers all of Hot Springs; fifteen great grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as Nanny and Grandmere and many nieces and nephews, all of whom affectionately referred to her as "Our Favorite Aunt Mag."
Magdalene was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Fordyce where she taught the Rachel Sunday School Class for many years before moving on to her true calling in the Nursery Department for many more years caring for the children of the church with the same love and devotion that she displayed in raising her own children and grandchildren. Although Magdalene’s most favorite job was being a mother and grandmother, she still found time to be employed by the Kroger Company for a number of years followed by several years of service working with the 911 Addressing Department at the Chamber of Commerce and Dallas County Sheriff’s Department.
We know that love is stronger than death. And we know the love that Magdalene showered upon everyone she came in contact with will live on in our memories strengthening our tomorrows.
